Well here I am… I have officially gone from “van dweller” to city girl…..again.  I now have a lovely studio downtown.  This is not ANYTHING like living in a van.  All my belongings are under one roof!  Most of my things have been in storage for 5 years.  While traveling around the world and then around the country by van, it was most convenient having a storage unit and staying with friends and family when I was in town.  But this got old…very old… and I missed my STUFF.  Yes, the ubiquitous STUFF that haunts us all when it grows larger than the space we have to store it.  Certainly you have heard George Carlin’s take on STUFF… It is hysterical.  And true. We all want our stuff!

I felt like I didn’t have that much stuff.  HA. At least that is what I thought.  But when I began the 600-mile-one-way-epic-journey-with-giant-truck to collect my STUFF from here there and everywhere in between, I began to realize that I have quite a bit of STUFF.  And now it is all here and like I have said the other forty-two times, “I am never moving my STUFF again!”

However, I am actually selling my beloved van-home, “Ruby”.  (Here is a link to the Craigslist ad: https://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/d/2014-dodge-grand-caravan/6500211580.html)

If you have ever had the dream of storing your STUFF and hitting the road, I highly recommend it.  I am glad I had this amazing adventure and now I am excited about being rooted in one place for a while.  I think I will travel by foot for a while!

Although traditionally I have considered myself mostly a mountain hiker and backpacker, I have found myself a gypsy nomad in many foreign towns and villages of lands far and wide, and now I have morphed into a happy beach/maritime forest walker and quaint-little-downtown-Morehead City-wanderer.  What an exciting journey!  I am so incredibly GRATEFUL!
