What is Reiki?
The word “Reiki” (pronounced ray-key) is:
REI = UNIVERSAL: A universal connection between all things… Divine Oneness and Harmony.
KI = LIFE FORCE: The vital energy that gives life and that flows through all creation.
In China it is “Chi or Qi”, in India it is called “Prana” and in Hawaii it is called “Mana”.
The philosophy of Reiki is based on the fact that all beings are made up of energy, and that in order to heal, grow, and thrive, we must do so on an energetic level. Reiki is a spiritually guided, high-vibration force. All energy healers work with energy, but not all work with Reiki. Reiki is Divine Love and Light.
Reiki is limitless and benefits all aspects of life. It can be used to balance energy within one’s energetic body. Reiki stimulates the body’s own healing capacities, and increases energy and vitality. It relieves pain, reduces stress, and deeply relaxes. It can be used to clear and cleanse everyone and everything. It can release energetic blockages that lead to physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. It is a source of profound knowledge and understanding, inspiration and creativity. It can heal throughout time and space, shifting the energy of past, present, and future situations or it can be sent to someone or something that is not even present with the practitioner. It heightens intuitive capacities. It is a source of deep healing and meditation, restoring harmony on individual and universal levels.
Reiki practitioners are “attuned” by a Reiki Master in a ceremonial process that opens the capacity to channel this energy and learn how to direct the energy through specific techniques. Reiki practitioners channel Divine energy through their energetic bodies and out through their hands into the receiver. Reiki is based on the use of a series of sacred symbols which are used beginning with the Second Degree Reiki attunement. Additional Reiki levels will be offered at a later date.
Essential to the practice and philosophy is the understanding that practitioners serve as channels for Divine Light rather than being independently responsible for healing.
I offer my knowledge gained from training, study, and experience, but would like to emphasize that nothing substitutes your own practice. Let this experience truly inspire you.
