With eight billion people on the planet, it is more important than ever that we stand together to protect our natural resources.  We can each play a part in protecting Mother Earth by following a few simple Leave No Trace (LNT) guidelines.  It is our divine human responsibility to be a good Keeper of the Land and ensure those who come after us also have an abundant, healthy planet to live and play on.

There are simple things we can do and, most importantly, become more aware of by evaluating the consequences of our actions.  For example, when we consume water from outside sources, we already know that purifying water from streams or rivers is essential.  Did you know that we can be the source of contamination in the water?  Introducing sunscreen, insect repellant, soaps, and chemicals from hygiene products can dramatically alter the PH levels of water.  These all can severely and negatively affect flora and fauna in and around our waterways.

Help protect natural water sources by eliminating the introduction of contaminants by following a few simple LNT guidelines:

Never bathe with soap (even biodegradable) or wash dishes directly in a water source.  Transport any grey water (water from dishwashing or bathing), along with ashes from a campfire, human waste, and pet waste, at least 200’ (around 70 paces) from water sources.

Being a good steward of our environment is being accountable for our presence in nature.  When we take care of the earth, the earth takes care of us.
