Well, we made it.  It’s New Year’s Eve 2021, and many cannot see the dawn of 2022 soon enough.  Me?  Well, I am thrilled to be here, in this time and space, no matter what the date on the calendar says.

I am sitting in the International Terminal of the Atlanta airport, awaiting a flight back to Lima, Peru.  Yes, I just got back from Cusco in mid-December… I had some life stuff I just couldn’t handle from there.  I knew I was coming right back, though, as it was my intention to spend the Winter in my beloved Peru.  I booked a ticket within a few days of arriving, even though my 7-year absence felt like a weirdly long lifetime of non-Peru-ness.

It has been a little while since I’ve been online, as I have been on a sort of [partial] technology hiatus.  However, I am celebrating a significant milestone this New Year’s Day, and I want to contribute to all the reasons to celebrate besides this year simply being over.  Twenty-five years ago tomorrow, I committed to improving my life by giving up alcohol, hard drugs, a 1-2 pack a day cigarette addiction, as well as beginning the long, arduous journey of losing 100+ pounds.  I had been on a fast-moving downward spiral for many years at that point, and I knew it was time to move in the other direction or die.  I am so grateful to have made the decisions I did back then, and I celebrate my healthy, happy life every single moment.

My path to health and happiness is a never-ending journey.  But I can say, beyond a shadow of a doubt, most of my healing has come from my replacement addiction: Movement.  Of course, I do a lot of yoga and dancing, but I am even more obsessive about my love of walking.  …Also, in the form of hiking, backpacking, trekking, rambling, and good ol’ fashioned wandering about in the woods with no particular destination whatsoever.  I recommend all of it.  I believe that walking in nature is SO healing that I wrote a book about it.  lol.

And to help you implement this healthy, happy lifestyle of pure joy and well-being… (no, I am not at all exaggerating!), I am creating an online program and a fun, interactive support group for encouragement and inspiration.  Are you interested?  Fabulous!

2022 is the perfect year to add more health and happiness to our lives… physically, mentally, and spiritually.  Stay tuned…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
