What did I do for my last birthday beginning with the number 4? I got to celebrate by going for TWO walks, of course. One was on a crystal white sandy beach and the other along the newly tree-bordered streets of the neighborhood where my dad lives.
Trees on the Coast is a non-profit organization in Destin, Florida that lines the streets with trees planted in memory of loved ones.  I have three beloved family members that are honored with their own palm tree bearing an engraved plaque. This palm is a tree venerating my grandmother, Eva, affectionately called “Mil.”
“Founded in 2015, Trees on the Coast works along the Florida panhandle to improve our coastal waterways and parks through tree plantings, beach cleanups, and education. We encourage and support individual, groups, and government efforts that help keep our local environment cleaner, greener, and more inviting place to live, work, and play.”
