I can honestly say that I have never laughed so much in one weekend in my entire life. I spent last weekend in the Satchidananda Yogaville Ashram in a Laughter Yoga Facilitator training and now I simply can’t stop laughing. Just kidding…I can stop anytime.
But why would I want that?
I was officially given permission to be silly and laugh at whatever I want, anytime, for absolutely no reason at all. Whew! What a relief, because life has felt very SERIOUS lately. Knowing the difference between acting “childish” and “childlike” makes all the difference, right? To feel we have permission to be as children… present, playing, and simply BEING in the moment is absolutely liberating! I highly recommend it…chuckle, chuckle…
It is funny to me, (ok, pun intended) that the old commonplace adages such as, “Laughter is the best medicine,” seem to be the most significant as well as the most underappreciated! After learning the comprehensive and medically verified list of positive, healing effects that laughter has on the human body, I am seriously (hahahahaa….) determined to laugh as much as I possibly can ….like my life depends on it. I love it that as I get older, I find the most important and truly beneficial things, are the simplest and easiest things, most of which we take for granted when “adulting.”
We spent time this weekend discussing the possibility that everything we need to know we automatically knew how to do when we were born. Eat, drink, breathe, play, poop, smile, love, laugh… We can cultivate a new appreciation for the simple things in life, one overly-complicated day at a time. So, the next time you see me out on my daily walk, laughing hysterically all by myself, I can truthfully say, I am certifiable… I mean certified… They told me I could…It’s for my health?….uhh….My doctor told me to??….whatever…hahahaa…
So go on now…what are you waiting for??…..Have yourself a good little chuckle for no reason at all before you go on with your day. Hahahahaha….
