I startled a large deer on the trail today. He didn’t scamper very far away, maybe fifteen feet, and for a few moments, we just sat there and stared at each other. Luckily, I had my cosmic pink prescription walking glasses on so that I could see his magnificent beauty. I had a nice long look at his smooth reddish-blonde hue and big, dark eyes. There was no fear in his eyes, just curiosity and wonder.
I began slowly walking in the direction I had been going before. And then, something remarkable happened. I looked over, and we were walking in the same direction at the same speed… just two peaceful beings, completely synchronized and paralleling each other for what seemed like an eternity. I’m sure it wasn’t more than 20 or 30 seconds, in reality. But it felt like a most enchanted encounter. Time stood still, and I felt connected to All That Is. We were one. I am grateful.
