The “Leave No Trace” Center for Outdoor Ethics has a mission to protect the outdoors by teaching and inspiring people to enjoy it responsibly. The 7 principles that LNT teaches are applicable in the frontcountry, as well as the backcountry and, are now a standard for most every outdoor affiliated organization as well as in public lands. I am so excited and proud to have completed the two-day LNT Trainer course this past weekend in the beautiful mountains of north Georgia. It was inspiring and educational. We participated in activities, gave presentations, and hiked up to the Appalachian Trail for demonstrations of the principles in action.

I have been applying and teaching these principles in my own life and businesses for as long as I have been an avid outdoorswoman. I had no idea there was so much more to learn! I am now thrilled to incorporate the 7 principles training into the curriculum of my new signature program, “Be a Badass Backpacker Bootcamp 5-day VIP One-on-One Retreat” in a fun and practical way.

We can all enjoy the wild and pristine wilderness by understanding our own impact on nature. The 7 principles are easy to understand and implement. We are ALL stewards of the outdoors. I look forward to talking about ways to do just that!

The 7 Leave No Trace Principles:
1. Plan ahead and prepare
2. Travel and camp on durable surfaces
3. Dispose of waste properly
4. Leave what you find
5. Minimize fire impact
6. Respect Wildlife
7. Be considerate of other visitors
