Do you believe in angels? Or what about encounters with special people you just KNOW you are supposed to be meeting? I have said for as long as I can remember, Magic is absolutely real and all we have to do is choose to believe it. Well, I know I am super blessed with magical angels that help me all the time.
For the past few days, I have been moving all of my belongings from storage in multiple places. Again.
Needless to say, I have been stressed. And unfortunately, a little negative. So, as I drove the last trip schlepping another load of stuff off into the sunset, I decided to call in my angels to help me with a new perspective… Or at least a little humor. And just then, I see immediate confirmation by driving past an exit happily displaying my favorite magic number, just to look down at my trip meter to see the Same. Magical. Number. Naysayers may call it coincidence, but not this gal. As I smiled and glided down the ramp toward the gas station I was heading for, once again, I see my magic number, conspicuously displayed on the side of the road…. just to make sure I get it.
And I got it.
As I began filling my gas tank, an older gentleman with a fishing t-shirt walks up and says, “That’s an impressive display,” looking at the numerous stickers on the back of my van. He said, “You must like to go hiking,” which gave me a genuine chuckle as I replied that it was only my favorite thing on earth to do. I asked him if he liked to hike and he said he used to hike, hunt and fish more, but now he doesn’t do as much of it as he used to. He said he was a retired game warden and volunteers to take handicapped kids out on hunting and fishing trips. He said that he was taking a boy out next week on a trip to fulfill his life-long bucket list. And then, as if that wasn’t enough, he told me he was on his way to take a baby dove that had fallen onto the highway from the overpass to his friends that rescue animals. This man stopped traffic, got out of his truck, and rescued a baby bird! Thank you!!
After a short but truly interesting conversation, I had so much compassion and respect for this man. I was so inspired by this man’s life-long service to the innocent beings in this world that need a little help. When I had asked my angels to help me shift my perspective, I had no idea what I was really asking for. This felt like such a special encounter to remind me…..again….. that all we have to do is ask for help. And it always comes. Always.
Thank you, Tony, for being the ever-present angel to those that pass through your world.
I am humbled with gratitude.
